Another year is fast approaching
By whatever metric you define a year
(I wonder how many K-cups of coffee are on Jeanna's PRC reports)
I am scanning all of last year's paperwork, only one year, this time, only one me this time
Soon I shall see if my friends are still my friends
Right now I'm being shoved things to fax, take to another office only to be promptly sent back with the same apparently unsatisfactory papers, directed to 54 cannisters of sugar to load into a locked metal cabinet, while I feel like ass inside
Sometimes I wish they would treat me like I am smart
Maybe because I'm starting to feel less smart
Nothing like the consolation of a peanut butter sandwich
And a soapy sponge cutting through rotting vegetable goo at the end of a day of tedium
A kitty is another wonderful restorative of perspective
