I am no deep fat fryer princess, but

I made samosas. Ten are in my freezer for future eating.

I discovered cheap spices today at Kohli's. The garam masala I bought was like a buck something for maybe a cup of the stuff? Trick is I had to find a jar to store it in in my apartment, but like, sweet.

I have a week planned out for using groceries I bought. Tomorrow hummus/spinach wrap for lunch, dinner red lentil canneloni, cookies and milk, thursday spinach quiche, friday or so couscous royale, then saturday finish up leftovers because there will be leftovers, despite many lunches and saturday breakfast? if I am up therefor, then make croquettes sunday with more lentils, someday in there I need to make rosemary roasted potatoes and garlic, and then I've got to be inventive monday and use things that will expire, probably carrots, get chris or someone-not-me to drink the milk and make it disappear.

I don't necessarily have time for as much cool shit as I wanted to make. But yeah! cool shit will be made! When I get back I am curious about this corn patties recipe in one of my books. As well as anything involving leeks. And/or fenugreek. Because that's a cool word. I also wanted to make more chili, some kind of dish involving the red curry powder, tofu, and baby corn I bought, and oat cracker-things, but these can wait until after Boston.

I should find something soft and bland that I can cook for my grandmother. I like foods spicy enough to make people like chris sick (:P couldn't finish his curry). My grandmother barely even uses black pepper, and only very rarely salt. She complains about everything being hard to chew. Also, she doesn't understand why anyone would ever be vegetarian. I will get on this. There was some kind of carrot-something mousse that looked intriguing to me. Can try to get my mom to make chicken, and have a side of rice. We'll see.

We're buying her another ice cream cake for birthday dessert, because the reception of last year's was so good, but I still feel like if I can bake her something else sweet some other day, she'll love it. Maybe a pie, with my newfound pie-skills. She likes fruit.

I'm not a particularly accomplished cook, but right now it's something to throw myself into that keeps my mind off other things. I do tend to do hobbies like that...

Got a study abroad meeting appointment for Friday bright and early at 9 AM; tomorrow is deadline for some paperwork and I will work till 5 like a corporate drone.

My little brother's wisdom teeth have been removed, and mine have yet to cause me strife.

My afternoon dream was weird shit: bus leaps off a bridge onto a busy street, plane with my coworkers and me on it crashes, I survive both these accidents and go on to eat a corndog in a cigarette-smoky garage and don't puke but feel guilty, porch catches on fire twice, I walk through the flames to the backyard and three dogs are fucking, stacked, the lowermost one clutching a bouquet of flowers. Does your dream analysis book have an interpretation for this one, Mal?

Sometime last week I dreamed I was a junkie, adamant about sticking the needles into my shoulder myself. Yay!

Well, goodnight, internets.

i too still have unbothersome wisdom teeth!

and the dream book says...
bus accident- predicts a period of frustration due to financial embarrassment
bridge- you are warned against making any changes for the time being
plane accident - you may expect some temporary reverses
eating (corn dog not in book) - eating along is a warning to guard against a loss of status of valued friends
cigarette- a lucky omen pertaining to prosperity
to feel guilty - indicates a need to make amends for some past injustice
to observe a house or building on fire - forecasts an urgent appeal for help from a close friend or relative
dogs- as a general rule are a good omen and symbolize friends
intercourse - meaning depends on your reactions...unpleasant reaction indicates that you are likely repressing an emotional problem
flowers- fresh flowers are an auspicious omen of great personal happiness. Dead flowers are a warning that overconfidence and/or carelessness also goes before a fall.

okay thats all i've got for you see you soon!
