lambert: Fetuses brainwash mothers. Their instincts tell them to protect babies they don't even know and give up on their careers.

my roommates' fridge: humans have an instinct that alerts them if a hungry mastadon s present. Not one to tell they are asleep at the wheel. Funny. Funny like, not haha funny, like quirky, offbeat, smashed skull, brains all over a tree funny.

cmu web portal's daily kitten: Roso is a five-week-old baby boy who lost his mother. Cat mothers are different. Less emotional attachment, usually. My father's mother would not let her kids refer to her with pronouns, saying "'she' is a cat's mother." My mother would always tell us to do things because she's "our mothah who had us" (on a bad day, "out my dinky" was appended thereto), because that deserved a measure of respect, talks about how she should have raised my cousin when she had the chance; then my uncle and his crack whore girlfriend might have never come back from maine. "Mother" is such a loaded term, and I am not nearly as sentimental about it as I should be. I have no pity for a cat orphan. It happens.

same place: bees on fire. They are not busy. Why are bees busy? They are mailmen. I am a mailman. This plays into my secret plans, which kept me up late last night.

outside Scaife: A bird decided to fly from branch to bench. Why? There was no food there. Isn't that all birds do? How are they happy, just doing that? Humans have to make up all this shit to do. Maybe that is why we are not all always happy. We feel compelled to do more than just be, just continue existing and preserve our DNA.

Are we any better for it? We make art?... but overall, it's possibly the opposite.

I mean, I think your mother probably deserves a little bit of respect for actually carrying you and your brother around for nine months, rather than aborting you with a coat hanger. Lucky for you, that doesn't mean anything else she did warrants any respect, or even that you have to like her as a human being.

Also, if you're a mailman, does that mean you have a silly blue uniform with embarrassing shorts?

I'm pretty sure you're the only one who had anything terribly negative to say about those shorts...

And at least they aren't actually lederhosen, like you suggested.
