Aug. 17th, 2008 12:24 amToday was my first Pillow Project performance!
Mt. Lebanon/Castle Shannon (the latter sounds pretty fancy) dance studio, many little girls and their families. Not extremely little, maybe middle and high school. In any case, informal show, six numbers: three of the girls' (one of which Pearlann choreographed- funny to see her style adapted for/adopted by younger people), Beth's solo, Pillow Project, a piece from H2O. (I have renewed respect for seasoned dancers - in them there is a visible maturity.)
It went pretty well, the carpool was fun, it was weird to see a sea of leotards and tights again, the people I dance with are nice, and afterward there were brownies and mini funfetti cupcakes and black bean and corn salsa. I think I will make some black bean and corn salsa tomorrow because I can. And go to the Waterfront, then ride bikes!
Tentative casting came out for 2084. I'll be in half the show, but I don't think I'm in any pieces that will be shown at the September Second Saturday. So I should get at least a few rehearsals off!
Also, between class and rehearsal and the show, I ate a large gelati at Rita's, whose lineup now includes strawberry custard. And when I came home, there was delicious delicious pie.
I think there is squash bread in my future. I apparently prefer my squashes grated and hidden amidst carbs. I have a feeling Sherbrook will accept this preference.
So yeah, today was about sweets and dance, but I danced and biked enough to make up for at least some of the sweets. Not that I have health concerns, I am just sort of embarrassed.
